This afternoon after taking our laundry in we decided to have lunch out. We were walking to our “most favorite” of all lunch places, D’Hugos when Joe spotted a new restaurant on the block behind our laundromat. La Chocolatera is located in a free-standing building two blocks directly behind the Phoenix apartments.
Today’s lunch special was a bowl of spinach soup, lomo steak with pesto pasta and rice. It came with a large glass of lemonade, and to our surprise a small jello with a banana for dessert. This for $2.20.
The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is an open airy place, looks to be freshly painted with very nice wooden tables and a cute bar. The staff was attentive, the food well seasoned and nicely prepared. We will be going back.
